Ongoing education, diplomacy, a realistic approach and asking for
cooperation are necessary to make it work.

Alberta Education - Anaphylaxis Policy Advisory
The Alberta School Boards Anaphylaxis Policy Advisory was completed in Sept 2007. Then Alberta Education worked on assembling the Allergy and Anaphylaxis Informational Response (AAIR) kit which was sent to all 2500 schools in Alberta in April 2008. The kit includes AAIA's Anaphylaxis and Asthma brochure, auto-injector trainers, training CD's, " Anaphylaxis in Schools and Other Settings" book, posters, etc. Unfortunately, I found our school's copy still wrapped on the shelf.
Although we don't actually have a provincial anaphylaxis policy, the ASBA policy advisory falls under the Safe and Caring Schools section of the Alberta School Act, and therefore must be followed.
